An evening of art and tranquility: Forabosco’s restored painting and an aperitif in the Citrus Courtyard

Some evenings shine with beauty, and on the upcoming July 8, in the heart of the Madonna di Marina Festival, we invite you to share a special moment with us: the presentation of the restored painting The Miraculous Rescue by Girolamo Forabosco, housed in the Church of Santa Maria Assunta in Malamocco.

This 17th-century work is a rare example of sacred art deeply tied to the lagoon landscape. The scene depicts the apparition of the Virgin Mary coming to the aid of a young man in danger in the waters, while in the background we recognize the coastline and familiar features of our land. A powerful image of devotion and protection, rooted in the spirituality of the seafaring communities.

The painting was restored thanks to the support of Save Venice, an organization that has been caring for Venice’s artistic heritage for over fifty years. Now, it returns to view in all its intensity – with its details, colors, and silent narrative power.

After the guided tour and the story of the restoration, we will move to our garden – the Citrus Courtyard of Relais Alberti – to offer you a glass of Prosecco in the evening breeze. Among soft lights, carefully prepared cocktails, and small tastings of local flavors, you’ll enjoy a moment of quiet conviviality, immersed in the peace of the village.
